I'm not at all denying the overt injustice and racism that exist in this county. It is better than how it was 30 to 40 years ago – particularly on football pitches, but it has not disappeared. And regrettably, it will never be. That does not mean to say that we should not continue to fight for a more just and fairer society, where people of all races are treated with fairness and simple courtesy.

There are many white people in society who feel like Sir Bryan Thwaites and if they are not allowed to express their opinion and spend their money the way they want, there will always be resentment and cry of political correctness gone mad... It is soul destroying to see so many young black people gaining many qualifications and being let down in the job marketplace, for example. It is sad that we live in a world that more importance is paid to what people say and the way they say it than what they actually do. You don't even have to mean it and that is just the way the world is ... see politics for example.

Less energy should be expended on asking for compensation for slavery but more on doing all we can to bring our children up with the right mindset and a belief in themselves. Barack Obama is an example to inspire young people and make them believe that they can achieve what they really desire, despite all the obstacles.

I cannot agree with you more that: it is a fact, in most cases, black and other ethnic minorities have to work harder than their white counterparts to get anywhere in society. This is the case in every society, and it is unfair, unjust and it delays progress for everyone. As you can see in the blogpost, I highlighted the fact despite the low education attainment by the white working boys, as adults, they do not face the same challenges that black people face in the job market place.

Sir Bryan Thwaites, who is donating the money has specified that his money be used to help working class white boy and rejecting it does not mean that it will be used instead to help black people. I am for the progress of all young people – black and white. I understand that black children probably need help more than the whites and money in the form of scholarships is a very good way of solving some of the problems. Let people spend their money the way they deem fit and I do not see any detrimental effect on black children in this.

What is also important is to do what we can to help the black children as they grow up. They need to have a positive mindset and to believe in themselves. They have to believe they can do it, despite all the barriers before them, including overt institutional racism. There are racist in society – black and white, and it will never go away.

Whilst I can understand the argument for, ‘what is good for the goose ought to be good for the gander’, I also understand the argument for the rejection such donation by Dulwich College and Winchester for said specific demographic - white working class boys. Historically, and certainly, statistically, most top educational institutions are largely populated by white males. Additionally, and as you rightly note, the opportunities available to white males in the workplace (regardless of socio-economic background) far outweigh the balances when compared to non-white males.

Traditionally and presently, non-white children have to put in twice as much effort, in order to be at par with their white counterparts. Sadly, this is our reality and we need to collectively, work toward integration and the development of level playing fields of opportunity for all groups.

Absolute rubbish the reason Black boys and girls need scholarsips, is that RACISM is and was systemic and intentionally from the start. History does truely tell the story and backed up by facts. This cannot be disbuted. Therefore all of the society we now live in, MUST re dress the balance to make society fair and equal. Otherwise we will never be in Uptopia... or even on the same road.

In case you were not looking or listening, the example is in football, black players at the top of their game in the Preimer League, systematically are targetted by RACIST. What's worse, talk about kicking it out is cheap and non action orientated. Only paying lip service to sound bites more often that not. If FIFA THE GOVERNMENT wanted to do something they could. Fact is this country and many others were built on it! RACISM....Whats Next.........
