Excel in Key Subjects' unique Revision programmes focuses on reinforcing students' understanding in the material they have covered since the start of the Autumn Term.

In addition to ensuring they have a good grasp of the fundamental concepts, it also diagnoses their understanding by getting them to practise with past exam questions.

We cover the following subjects at both GCSE and A-level:

    • Mathematics
    • Further Mathematics
    • Combined Science - includes Physics, Chemistry and Biology)
    • Triple Science
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Biology
    • English
    • History
    • Economics (A-level only)

Benefits of the Saturday classes

Our online courses are very effective as in-person. Some of the features that make that possible are:

We insist on live teaching on video, with a requirement that both students and teachers turn on their video cameras throughout the lesson

Students are expected to do handwritten work, as opposed to typing everything. This reflects the way real exams are still conducted.

Questions are set for the student and the teacher provides feedback

There's never been a better time to give your child an academic edge...

Most grades improve by two levelsClick Here to book and let's begin the conversation!

We have helped over 80% of our A-level students to improve their grades. With over 95% of our GCSE students achieving grades A* to C, we can't be doing too badly!

"In the run-up to my exams I was given probably the best revision help I have ever received, and so was able to get through my exams with the minimal amount of stress. When I heard that I had achieved my A-grade in English A-level I felt that the congratulations should really
go to Excel in Key Subjects for their ongoing support and excellent teaching." M F (Student who studied A2 English Literature)

Taking exams can be an anxious time for students and parents alike. At Excel in Key Subjects we aim to minimise stress by preparing all our students to confidently sit their exams.

These additional Intensive Revision courses will further improve students' chances of securing higher grades in the summer examinations in these vital subjects. Please see our testimonials page for further evidence of EIKS's success.

How the Saturday School Works

A-level Lessons

A total of 2 hours per lesson each week – including 30 minutes of question practice. The two-hour period is the minimum that an A-level student is expected to spend studying with us each week. This is in addition to homework (more question practice), based on the material covered that week, which is another 1.5 to 2 hours.

GCSE & KS3 Classes (in-premises at our centre)

Every Saturday, students in classes of no more than 8 will spend:

    • 50 minutes on English
    • 50 minutes on Maths
    • 50 minutes on each Science subject - Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
    • Students who are taking Combined Science (double) spend only two periods on science subjects. They still cover Physics, Chemistry and Biology but they rotate. For example Chemistry and Physics for about four to five weeks, then Biology and Chemistry and so on.

Most students spend between 4 and 5 hours with us every Saturday, studying Maths, English and science subjects.  The timetable and the fees structure encourage students to do four or five GCSE subjects. The fees work out more cost effective that way. However, a minority of students do just a couple of GCSE subjects.

For the Saturday School, students can stay for extra hours to study and get help  from tutors as they do question-practice. These extra hours is at no additional cost to parents. This extra value-adding is unique to us

In the summer term average class size at GCSE and KS3 is between three and five students per class.

Classes are usually held from 10am to about 3pm but some students fish at about 4pm

Our Grade Guarantee applies to students who study for the whole academic year in Y11 and the whole two years at A-level.

There is also 1 hour of homework set after each lesson.
