Key Facts

As it is the last week of school before the Easter break it is crucial that every student goes on their holiday equipped with what they need to do in order to achieve their target grade. At least 80% of the material required for each subject should have been covered before the Easter break. There are certain questions students should ask themselves in order to get the most out of their time during the Easter break.

8 Key Questions and Tips for students

  • What are the precise modules you need to cover for the examinations and what are the examination dates?
  • Are there any concepts you think you understand but you do not score marks on them in exam questions? – Practice questions
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses in each module? Ask your teacher for advice
  • Remember, if you have any issues to clarify with teachers, ask them before you break up!
  • Are you an A2 student who is retaking some AS modules? If you do not have your AS books, or have given them back since last year, make sure you get them so you do not miss out
  • Would it be worthwhile to draw up a revision plan for Easter and the weeks ahead?
  • You should not dwell too much on what has not yet been covered. They should concentrate instead on mastering the basics; reinforcing their knowledge on key concepts and knowing what the examiners are looking for when marking your script!
  • When practising with exam papers, you may want to focus on your weak areas by not doing a whole past paper but instead, doing a lot of questions on topics in which you find difficult to score marks.
