Despite being perhaps the most marketable subject, Maths is one of those subjects that doesn’t always come naturally to students. People often think of Maths as something you are either good at or bad at, but here at Excel in Key Subjects, we believe that all students have the potential to unlock hidden abilities.

Mathematics is a core skill that we all require in our day-to-day life. Nowadays it is essential to produce evidence of this skill in the form of qualifications. Many employers now stipulate that applicants have achieved at least a Grade 5 (C grade in the old money!) in GCSE Maths to even be considered for a position. Candidates wishing to pursue a university degree or career in not only Maths or Physics but also in Engineering and the physical sciences have to have A-level Maths, and usually Further Maths as well if they are applying to the very top universities such as Cambridge, Imperial College or Oxford. To apply to study Finance or Economics related courses at top universities Maths is desirable and actually compulsory in many cases.

We provide tuition both high-achievers, and individuals struggling with the subject, to reveal their full potential, with the majority of our students improving their average grade by two points. It must be said that most of our students are in the range of B to A* and for a student to have a good chance of benefitting from our programme, they must have the ability to achieve at least a C grade. This does not mean that they are working at this level when they join us. If they have the ability, we usually bring out the best in them. Within a few months  of joining our classes, students grow in competence, hence confidence, and begin to  perform at a higher level.

We believe that our success lies in our teaching methods – designed to instil confidence in students, helping them to gain skills and knowledge, which in turn converts into excellent examination results.
