What the student gets from the Intensive Revision course

Excel in Key Subjects’ unique Intensive Half Term Revision programme focuses on reinforcing students’ understanding of Key Concepts and perfecting their Exam Technique.

Time is spent on the material they have covered in school since the start of the academic year. This includes key areas of the student’s specification that they should have covered by now, but which, in some cases, have perhaps not covered for one reason or another. We pay attention to the most problematic topics in these particular subjects.

We then set practice questions for them to attempt and support them in answering those questions in the manner in which the examiner expects. This equips them with the all-important exam technique that is required to score marks in the exams. As they are in very small groups, each student is stretched according to his or her ability and the expected grade.

Very Absorbing, but also very Effective.

Students find the idea of being engrossed in a particular subject for six or more hours a day, for a couple of days or so (2 days at GCSE and 3 days at A-level), very absorbing, but also very effective in mastering key aspects of that particular subject.

We have received excellent feedback from over 95% of students as they found Excel in Key Subjects Intensive Revision very empowering.

They do have short breaks in the day and at lunch time!

At AS and A2 level, each subject is studied for 20 hours and this time is spread over three days. There are 6 hours 40 minutes of study each day. Courses are usually from 9am to about 4.30pm each day, with a 45 minute lunch break and two short breaks. As each subject is studied over three days, students taking two subjects study for 6 days.

At GCSE, each subject is studied for 12 hours and this time is spread over two days. There are 6 hours of study each day. Courses are usually from 9am to about 4pm each day, with a 45 minute lunch break and two short breaks. As each subject is studied over two days, students taking two subjects study for 4 days.

Intensive revision courses are run during each half-term school holiday (October, February & May) and end-of-term school holiday(Christmas, Easter, Summer)
